Subduction Zone
Model for the Subduction Zone

The subduction zone is the place where two lithospheric plates come together. They both riding over the other. Its move really slowly across the surface over millions of years. When two tectonic plate meet each other underneath the other they mantle is the hotter layer inside the crust. When that happen his call boundary between the plates a subduction zone. The tectonic plates can goes both side of continental crust and oceanic crust. When the hot spot malt the magma its became lava and push up to the atmosphere and create mountain. There was lots of mountain made up cause of the subduction zone. For example the massive Himalaya mountain china, it was created by the subduction system. The subduction zone occur all around the edge of the pacific ocean. Like offshore of Washington, Canada, Alaska, Russia, Japan and Indonesia. Those are called by "Ring of Fire" that cause for the biggest earthquake and terrible tsunamis happen.
